THE FIRST EVER MANILVA INTERNATIONAL BEACH FOOTBALL FESTIVAL!!

Taking centre stage on the fantastic beaches of Sabanillas, the event was a festival of pure entertainment and fun, to see its the first TV coverage of the event, tune into Sky Sports 2 at 16:00 BST on Tuesday 9th September.

With an amazing purpose built 3,000 seater stadium that was the centre piece alongside the tented football village, situated all along the promenade, the event was in aid of Sun and Happiness, a charity that is making very special things happen for very special children.

With world stars such as Des Walker, Ruel Fox, Clyde Wijnhard, Brian Nielsen, Stig Tofting,  Richard Sneekes, Martin Dahlin, Martin Vaquez, Manjarin, Fran and many more…….

The weekend of the August 23rd & 24th 2008 presented the region of Manilva a crop of International legends in six teams, who showed off their skills in the sand to see which of the teams from Spain, England, Sweden, Denmark, Gibraltar and The Netherlands would walk away with the Trophy for 2008, with the latter The Netherlands participating in a exciting final against Spain, eventually been crowned champions winning a sudden death penalty shoot out after the sides were level on 5 goals a piece after the final whistle.
